Check out the article about the brain and something called the 5-HT2A receptor that may be making you fat. When my wife was in college, she took a drug that helped with migraines, which she suffered regularly. The drug, thats name eludes me right, worked well at curbing the migraines, but the side effect was weight gain. The drug worked by changing serotonin levels, which caused the weight gain.   1. I read a similar article at one point and it made a lot of sense to me. If you’re rewarded for eating and you over-eat the body protects its ability to give you those rewards by destroying the receptors so you get less “reward” from the activity.
