A study on those poor little mice again, has shown that a diet that includes 30% of the calories from vegetables were 38% less likely to have atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries. Link follows:

Most of the traffic from my other podcast, Razing Giants, comes from iTunes. When submitting a podcast to iTunes, you have to have at least one show in your feed. So…with the Inaugural Show in the can, the Fat Guy Radio Show can now be downloaded and subscribed to in iTunes. Here’s [...]
Thanks for checking out the show. I hope to not disappoint. On this first episode, we discuss some diet/science related news, do the first weigh-in, talk about hydration and body fat percentages, have a “Fat Guy Moment of the Week” and play a little music. Not bad for a first show. Next week we’ll talk [...]
I’m sorry. That will be the first thing out of my mouth when I get home today. If I’m the cause of any of my family becoming fat, then the least I can do is apologize. And again, continuing the “It’s not my fault I’m fat” theme, my wife and children [...]
Suck It In

“…he believes scientists could eventually help control human nutrition by [...]
Many moons ago my mother-in-law gave me a tape called Dead Doctors Dont’ Lie. It was more or less an advertisement for something called colloidal minerals. One such mineral that was discussed on the tape was selenium. The tape linked it with heart disease and that the tell tale sign for a [...]
Diet, Fitness and the Mind
I came this article about how the foods we eat, how much we exercise and how much we sleep affects our brain and our health. Here’s a quote from the article about caffeine:
“With prolonged use, it can interfere with the brain’s ability to reach deep sleep and become fully rested, which means that the [...]
Check out the article about the brain and something called the 5-HT2A receptor that may be making you fat. When my wife was in college, she took a drug that helped with migraines, which she suffered regularly. The drug, thats name eludes me right, worked well at curbing the migraines, but the side [...]
While quite disturbing, the video below is awesome. It captures the feeling of the body, independent of the brain, when subjected to a severe reduced calorie diet. And yeah, the chick is pretty hot except for the whole ravenous belly button thing.
So check out the video and enjoy while I produce the first [...]
