<itunes:summary>First, how have you been doing on your Couch to 5k program? I've been walking 20 minutes every day at lunch. The 260 minute total was the minimum you should have walked in Month 1/Phase I of this more conservative C25K program. I found this program over at Beginner Triathlete. The second month is detailed below. There's more walking and a little bit of running. This is very doable for a "big" person.

Second, are you subscribed to Fat 2 Fit Radio? Fat 2 Fit Radio is the really the continuation of the Fat Guy Radio show. Jeff Ainslie and I discuss weight loss, diet, fitness and exercise topics every week. We also take a look at news articles that deal with these subjects as well. Take a listen and see if this fills a gap in your life.

Third, is your brain working the best it can? Mine isn't. Over the next 12 weeks or so I'm going to be posting about the new book Brain Rules. See the post previous to this one for more information.

Here's a table of the second month's schedule:

<itunes:summary>Hello, and welcome back to me. It's been a busy Summer, the kids are back in school and so they're going to bed at a decent time. I have time to podcast again. Let me recap, the last show was in June, July and August were dark, podcast wise, and now it's mid-September.

Well, as promised on a previous post, the weigh-in is back. Though this time if you want to know the numbers for the weigh-in, you'll have to listen to the podcast. That's my compromise with myself, I weigh-in and share, but I'm not going to post them here on the blog any more.

Recipe of the Week: 15 Minute Chili

HELP WANTED: I'm looking for a co-host. I've done 38 episodes mostly by myself, and I'm looking for someone interested in podcasting and also in weight loss, dieting and fitness. No experience necessary, we can work through most problems. Send an e-mail to fatguyradio@gmail.com or call (562) 219-3350 and leave a voicemail.

The Podcast New Media Expo is September 28, 29, 30th. Come learn about podcasting, Free admission to the show floor, or sign up for the seminars and learn more. Ontario Convention Center.

Podcamp Socal is a loose conference, or un-conference as they like to call it. If you want to learn about podcasting, this is the place to do it. If you have something to teach about podcasting, this is the place to do it. Free, 10am-5pm, Ontario Convention Cenber.

<itunes:summary>Good to be back in the saddle here at the podcast. The gear seems to have survived the attack of my 8 year old son Adam. Give the kid and inch.... Any way, thanks for checking out the show. I'm really trying to lose some massive weight for a trip to Oxnard. Yeah, Oxnard. I thought it was weird too, but there is an Embassy Suites resort called Mandalay Beach.

It looks fabulous. I can't wait. Also, we're heading to Austin, TX in mid-August to check out the area for possible relocation. Everyone I've told that we're going to Texas in August has given me a "you're crazy" kind of look. My thought is that you check out the area at the worst time of year, at least weather wise. We were also going to check out Colorado Springs, CO in February, but it was below freezing. I don't like cold. We have a full meal on the Recipe of the week in this episode. Also, Elsie from Elsie's Yoga Kula commented on the blog that she also has videos up at Revver, so check those out.

Recipe of the Week:
Peanut Butter Pie Pudding

2 tablespoons Natural no sugar Peanut Butter
2 tpsp lowfat cream cheese
2 tbsp Cool Whip Free
6 packets of equal or splenda
1/2 tsp of skim milk

Whip it all together with a wire whisk and put in a little bowl. Top with a little lite cool whip if you want. For 250 calories, you will feel (almost) as if you have eaten a rich, fattening dessert! Single serving.

<itunes:summary>This week starts a new feature on the show, the Recipe of the Week. This week we also discuss an article about overcoming a loss of motivation. Check out the link on the blog. You know, on the first show I stated that on the show we'd be talking about the science of weight loss without all the crap about feelings and how it affects weight. I was wrong, and I apologize. I'm finding more and more that the mental portion of weight loss is so much more important than I thought. DAMN IT!!

The recipe of the week is Roasted Garbanzo Beans. A half cup serving of garbanzo beans contains 110 calories. From the description in the recipe these things are supposed to taste like corn nuts. Hopefully I don't break my teeth on them like you can with real corn nuts. I'll let you know how they come out. I'll be cooking them up this weekend.
